Presentations: Pat Muston with the Southeast Texas Housing Finance Corporation (STHFC) introduced several staff members of STHFC who provided City Council with a presentation of programs and services provided by the Corporation. Council considered a resolution supporting the City of Houston hosting Olympic Games in 2012 (Res. 99-27). Mayor Norman Malone presented summary and recommendation. Motion was made by Councilperson Griffiths to approve the resolution as presented by Mayor Malone. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried unanimously. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, and Mayor Malone. Nays: None Abstain: None 8. Council considered a resolution supporting the designation of truck lanes and making Texas Highways safer (Res. 99-28). Mayor Norman Malone presented summary and recommendation. Motion was made bv Council person Young to remove the next to last paragraph designating routes around cities. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried.
