May 9, 2000 — City Council Minutes — Page 3 City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2000-2406 — AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING TAX ROLL ASSESSMENT CORRECTIONS; AUTHORIZING A REFUND TO THE TAXPAYER; APPROPRIATING FUND FOR THE REFUND; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve Ordinance 2000-2406 as presented by Ms. Alexander. Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion carried. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke, and Mayor Malone Nays: None Abstain: None 9. Council considered authorizing the removal of two traffic humps installed on Crestway between Farrington Blvd. and Glenmeadows Drive. Director of Public Works Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendations. Motion was made by Councilperson Griffiths to approve the removal of traffic humps as recommended by Mr. Gillett. Second by Councilperson Sutherland. The motion carried. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke, and Mayor Malone Nays: None Abstain: None Councilperson Sutherland left the meeting at 6:35 P.M. 10. Council considered authorizing purchase of plastic garbage bags through H-GAC Cooperative Purchasing Program. Director of Public Works Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendations and answered questions for City Council. Motion was made by Councilperson Young to approve the purchase of plastic garbage bags as recommended by Mr. Gillett. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried. Ayes: Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke, and Mayor Malone Nays: None Abstain: None 11. The special called workshop meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 6:38 P.M.
