Burrows — advised City Council his client Ray Garcia would like to <br />speak and inform City Council he is opposed to the approval of the alley <br />closing in Block 752 behind his home. <br />m. Alton Ogden - Natchez Mississippi— advised City Council he is a part of <br />the La Porte Community. He further informed Council he requested their <br />support to close the alley in Block 752 on 16th Street. <br />n. Mary McLain —128 S. 16th St., La Porte, Texas 77571 — Ms. McLain <br />informed City Council she wants to protect her interest and her home and <br />wants to know if she can get her property extended. Mayor Malone <br />advised her to make this inquiry to the Inspections Division. <br />o. Jeff Burkhalter — 305 Winchester Rd., Natchez, Mississippi 39120 — Mr. <br />Burkhalter informed City Council he is in the favor of closing the alley in <br />Block 752 on 16th Street. <br />p. Ben Ritchie — 435 S. Shady Lane, La Porte, Texas 77571 — Mr. Ritchie <br />requested City Council change back the zoning from residential to <br />commercial on his business property located on S. Broadway. <br />q. Bernard Legrand — 3115 Layne Court, La Porte, Texas 77571 — Mr. <br />Legrand informed City Council he is concerned about the number of <br />apartment complexes on Broadway Street. In addition, he requested City <br />Council to consider hike and bike trails on Broadway Street. <br />5. Presentations: <br />Kathy Powell was recognized for obtaining her CTA designation. The Finance <br />Director Cynthia Alexander and Assistant Finance Director Michael Dolby <br />presented her a plaque. <br />Mayor Malone informed City Council he had a request to take item 13 next on the <br />agenda. It was the consensus of City Council to take that item next. <br />13. Council considered approval or other action regarding an ordinance appointing a <br />re -districting committee and establishing its powers and duties. This item was <br />previously tabled at the January 8, 2001 meeting due to the illness of Councilman <br />Gay. <br />There was detailed discussion on this item. <br />
