Motion was made by Council member Griffiths to approve the Ordinance 99-1387-C- as presented by Ms. Wilmore. Second by Council member Rigby. The motion carried Ayes: Mosteit, Moser, Ebow, Engelken, Griffiths, Rigby, Beasley, Clausen and Mayor Porter. Nays: None Abstain: None 9. Council to consider approval or other action regarding an ordinance adopting an Emergency Pay Policy. Human Resource Manager Robert Swanagan presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 2684-B-AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE CITY OF LA PORTE EMPLOYEE POLICIES HANDBOOK DATED SEPTEMBER 21,2005; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Council member Ebow to approve the Ordinance 2684 B as presented by Mr. Swanagan. Second by Council member Griffiths. The motion carried Ayes: Mosteit, Moser, Ebow, Engelken, Griffiths, Beasley, Clausen and Mayor Porter Nays: Rigby Abstain: None 10. Council to consider approval or other action awarding RFP#06501 - Compensation and Classification Study in the amount of$40,500. Human Resource Manager Robert Swanagan presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 2874-AN ORDINANCE-AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND THE MERCER GROUP, INC., FOR A COMPENSATION STUDY AND CLASSIFICATION STUDY; APPROPRIATING THE SUM NOT TO EXCEED $40,500.00, TO FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Council member Rigby to approve Ordinance 2874 as presented by Mr. Swanagan. Second by Council member Mosteit. The motion carried.
