<br />City Council Special Called Regular Meeting, Workshop Meeting and Public Hearing -November 6, 2006 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Interim City Manager John Joerns presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />Council's questions. <br /> <br />Council directed staff to bring this item back to the December 11, 2006 Council Meeting. <br />They want to review a potential project list and Council needs to be prepared to submit <br />candidate's names who would be willing to serve on the Blue Ribbon Committee. <br /> <br />12. Council to consider approval or other action regarding an ordinance authorizing and <br />approving an agreement between the City of La Porte and the Spencer Landing <br />Homeowner's Association, Inc. regarding installation and maintenance of playground and <br />park service equipment for use by the public in a detention basin facility owned by the <br />Association, and approving additional funding as described. <br /> <br />Parks & Recreation Director Stephen Barr presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 2958 -AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND THE SPENCER LANDING HOMEOWNER'S ASSOCIATION, INC. <br />REGARDING INST ALLA TION AND MAINTENANCE OF PLAYGROUND AND <br />PARK SERVICE EQUIPMENT FOR USE BY THE PUBLIC IN A DETENTION BASIN <br />FACILITY OWNED BY THE ASSOCIATION; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council member Moser to approve Ordinance 2958 as presented by <br />Mr. Barr with correction on page 4 of the contract. Council to consider approval or other action regarding an ordinance authorizing the Mayor <br />to execute the Amendment to Cost Sharing Agreement Southeast Water Purification Plant <br /> <br />Public Works Director Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />Council's questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 2959 -AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO COST SHARING <br />AGREEMENT SOUTHEAST WATER PURIFICATION PLANT BETWEEN THE LA <br />PORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY AND THE CITY OF HOUSTON; <br />APPROPRIATING THE SUM NOT TO EXCEED $542,880.00, TO FUND SAID <br />CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO <br />THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council member Rigby to approve Ordinance 2959 as presented by <br />Mr. Gillett.
