<br />Regular Meeting, Public Hearing and Workshop Meeting -December 11, 2006 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Michael Solomon Evans Jr. - 10929 Dogwood Dr. La Porte, Texas addressed Council on <br />the effectiveness of the T.R.U.T.H. Organization at La Porte High School and asked for the <br />continued support of the city. <br /> <br />Shelbie Gabrilska - 10927 North L. La Porte, Texas addressed Council with concerns of the <br />October 16, 2006 flooding that resulted in water in home in Lomax. Ms. Gabrilska requested <br />a contact person to help with the flooding in the Lomax community. <br /> <br />Nathan Bretting - 11127 Skyview La Porte, Texas informed Council he has been working <br />with Harris County Flood Control since May 2005. He informed Council Harris County has <br />been working unsuccessfully on Phase 1 of a project to prevent flooding and had photos <br />available for Council to view. Mr. Bretting requested the city assist with the project to <br />prevent the flooding. <br /> <br />Nelly Rivera - 10930 North L. La Porte, Texas was not present to speak. <br /> <br />Matt Daeumer - 4929 Archway Dr. La Porte, Texas - expressed his appreciation for not <br />having insurance rates increased for the year. Mr. Daeumer informed Council of concerns of <br />not seeing results of the Mercer Study and Benefits Survey. <br /> <br />7. Public Hearing - Council to consider approval or other action on recommendation by <br />Planning & Zoning Commission to adopt design and architectural standards for new <br />construction along major thoroughfares in GC and BI zoning districts. <br /> <br />Open Public Hearing - Mayor Porter opened the Public Hearing at 6:32 p.m. <br /> <br />Director of Planning Wayne Sabo presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />Council's questions. <br /> <br />Public Input: None <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 6:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Recommendation of Planning and Zoning Commission - Planning and Zoning Commission <br />recommended City Council adopt the design and architectural standards for new <br />construction along major thoroughfares in GC and BI zoning districts <br /> <br />8.
