La Porte, Texas - spoke in opposition to the rezone request. <br />Ms. Paul had concerns with the traffic the development would create. <br /> <br />Bob Rogers - 9221 Barton Rogers La Porte, Texas spoke in opposition to the rezone request. <br /> <br />Kevin Scherm - 9218 San Saba - La Porte, Texas informed Council he did not receive <br />notice of the development and he was in favor of changing the design. <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 7:21 p.m. <br /> <br />Recommendation of Planning and Zoning Commission - Planning and Zoning Commission <br />recommended City Council approval of Rezone Request # R06-003. <br /> <br />10. Council to consider approval or other action regarding Ordinance l50l-L5 <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: Ordinance l50l-L5- CONSIDER APPROVAL <br />OR OTHER ACTION REGARDING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 106, <br />"ZONING" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION FROM MEDIUM DENSITY <br />RESIDENTIAL TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL, AS REQUESTED FOR TRS 692C, <br />693B, 706, AND 707 LA PORTE OUTLOTS, LOCATED ALONG CANADA ROAD <br />NORTH OF FAIRMONT PARKWAY HEREIN DESCRIBED; MAKING CERTAIN <br />FINDINGS OF F ACT RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Council member Clausen to approve Ordinance l50l-L5 as <br />recommended by Planning and Zoning Commission. Second by Council member Ebow. <br />The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Ebow, Clausen, and Mayor. <br />Nays: Moser, Engelken, Rigby <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />11. Public Hearing - Council to consider approval or other action on recommendation by <br />Planning & Zoning Commission to approve Special Conditional Use Permit #SCU06-007 <br />for a 10.115 acre tract being Reserve G2 out of :1:207 acres of land located along Old <br />Underwood Road south of State Highway 225 and Union Pacific Railroad. <br /> <br />Open Public Hearing - Mayor Porter opened the Public Hearing at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Director of Planning Wayne Sabo presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />Council's questions. <br /> <br />Public Input: None <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 7:39 p.m. <br /> <br />Recommendation of Planning and Zoning Commission - Planning and Zoning Commission <br />recommended City Council consider approval of Special Conditional Use Permit #SCU 06- <br />007 with the conditions as listed in the SCUP. <br />
