Minutes of Regular Meeting, Public Hearing and Workshop Meeting of La Porte City Council on July 26, 2010 7 <br />10. Consider approval or other action regarding a resolution authorizing the City to join the <br />Houston Coalition of Cities representing municipalities' interest in utility rate proceedings <br />(Res. 2010-17) - J. Joems <br />Assistant City Manager John Joerns provided summary and recommendation and <br />answered Councils' questions. <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read Resolution 2010-17, A RESOLUTION OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, PERTAINING TO CENTERPOINT ENERGY HOUSTON <br />ELECTRIC, LLC APPLICATION TO CHANGE ELECTRIC RATES PENDING AS DOCKET <br />N0.38339AND RELATED PROCEEDINGS <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Clausen to approve Resolution 2010-17 as <br />presented by Mr. Joems. Second by Councilmember Mosteit. Motion carried. <br />Ayes: Rigby, Moser, Clausen, Zemanek, Mosteit and Mayor Pro-Tem Leonard <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Engelken <br />Absent: Black <br />11. Consider approval or other action regarding a Takings Resolution for acquisition of 0.0644 <br />acres of land by condemnation from CenterPoint Energy, for development of apedestrian/ <br />bicycle trail - (Res. 2010-18) - S. Barr <br />Director of Parks and Recreation Stephen Barr provided summary and recommendation <br />and answered Councils' questions. In addition, Tom Forrestier provided additional <br />comments. <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read Resolution 2010-18, A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE ACQUSITION OF A TEN (10) FOOT WIDE PEDESTRIAN/BIKE <br />EASEMENT, CONTAINING 0.0644 ACRES IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE, FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Zemanek to table this item. Second by <br />Councilmember Moser. Motion carried. <br />Ayes: Rigby, Moser, Clausen, Zemanek, Mosteit and Mayor Pro-Tem Leonard <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Engelken <br />Absent: Black <br />12. Close Regular Meeting and Open Workshop Meeting <br />The Regular Meeting was closed at 7.27 p.m. and the Workshop Meeting was opened at <br />7:28 p.m. <br />
