(2) Dispensing devices at automobile servi~ stations shall <br />be located not less than ten (10) feet from any building. Such <br />dispensing devices shall also be located so that the nozzle, when <br />hose is fully extended, shall not reach within five (5) feet of any <br />building opening. <br />(3) All dispensing devices shall be protected against physical <br />damage from vehicles by mounting on a concrete island of a mininaan <br />of six (6) inches in height or surrounded by four (4) inch concrete <br />filled pipes, or both. <br />(d) Dispensing devices inside buildings shall be prohibited. <br />(e) Electrical controls. <br />(1) Any pump motor circuit shall be energized by a switch located on <br />each dispencer cormected to it which shall be operated by recroval or <br />replacement; or replacement of the nozzle in its bracket. <br />(2) A clearly labeled manually operated pump master switch shall be <br />provided in an approved location, within seventy-five (75) feet of, <br />but not nearer than fifteen (15) feet to, any dispencer. Where such <br />master switch is not visible from all dispencers, the location thereof <br />shall be indicated by approved signs. <br />(3) Sign identifying the pump master switch shall be labeled <br />"EN]ERGENCY PUMP SHUT-OFF". Letters to be not less than three (3) inches <br />high on contrasting background. This sign will be mounted by the <br />breaker box in which the emergency pump shut-off breaker is located. <br />(4) The master switch on all individual pump circuit switches shall be <br />set in the "off' position before closing the service station for <br />business at any time. <br />(f) Special types dispencers. Approved special dispensing systems such <br />as remote preset types, are permiteed at service stations provided there is at <br />least one qualified attendant on duty .while the station is open to the public. <br />The attendant's primary function shall be to supervise, observe and control the <br />dispensing of Class I liquids while said liquids are being dispensed. It shall <br />be the responsibility of the attendant to prevent the dispensing of Class I <br />liquids into portable containers not in compliance with Section 16.40 control <br />sources of ignition, and to immediately handle accidental spills and fire extin- <br />guishers if needed. <br />(1) The attendant or supervisor on duty shall be capable of performing <br />the functions and assuming the responsibilities covered herein. <br />(2) Emergency controls shall be installed at a location acceptable <br />to authority having jurisdiction, but controls shall be not more than <br />one hundred feet (100') from dispencers. <br />(3) Instructions for the operations of dispencers shall be conspicLwvsly <br />posted. <br />(4) Remote preset type devices are to be in the "off' position while <br />not in use so that dispencer cannot be activated without the knowledge <br />of the attendant. <br />Motion to approve as presented made by Wilson Dugger <br />Motion seconded: Paul Hickenbottom <br />Ayes: 8 <br />Nays: 0 <br />4.
