PLANNING/ZONING MEETING <br />MINUTES OF 4-13-89 <br />PAGE 4 OF 6 <br />• <br />Using guidelines set by the Comprehensive Plan, La Porte's <br />Official Park Zone Map establishes a ratio of one (1) acre of <br />public area per 22.3 acres of residential zoned property. (See <br />attached). <br />A4rs. Graves called for a vote on the recommendation of staff that <br />we designate an area along the west side of Taylor Bayou, south of <br />McCabe Road as a potential .park site. All were in favor. <br />PROPOSED ZONIAIG MAP <br />AREA IV - Includes the Shady Oaks, Bay Colony Subdivisions, a <br />townhome project, one commercial multi-tenant office building and <br />a tract of predominately undeveloped/agricultural acreage. Staff <br />recommends "R-1" zoning with the exception of the land bound by <br />Boggy Bayou and the Shady Oaks Subdivision on the west, Harris <br />County Navigation District on the south, a line along the western <br />edge of the Bay Colony Subdivision over to Bay Colony Dr., then <br />west ar.d north around Block 1 of Bay Colony Subdivision for the <br />eastern limits, then west along the Shoreacres city limits line to <br />the north eastern corner of the Shady Oaks Subdivision for the <br />northern boundary westerly to Shady Oaks, this area is proposed to <br />• be PUD. <br />Mrs. Graves called for a vote on the proposed zoning for Area IV. <br />This would include a residential PUD for the area bounded on the <br />west and north around Block 1 of Bay Colony Subdivision for the <br />eastern limits, then west along the Shoreacres city limits line to <br />the north eastern corner of the Shady Oaks Subdivision for the <br />northern boundary westerly to Shady Oalss, this area is proposed to <br />be PUD. The remainder of Area IV would be "R-1". All were in <br />favor. <br />AREA II - Primarily comprised of the Shady River Subdivision. <br />AREA III - Pine Bluff, Bayside Terrace, Bay Oaks Subdivisions. <br />The "R-2" zoning out of these areas would be bounded by Taylor <br />Bayou on the west, an extension of the north boundary of Shady <br />River Subdivision on the north extending approximately 340 feet <br />east of Old Hwy. 146, then in a south easterly direction along the <br />west line of 31ock Ito. 5 in the Bayside Terrace Subdivision to the <br />centerline of Bayside Dr., then west along the centerline of <br />Bayside Dr. a distance of approximately 295 feet, then south a <br />distance of approximately 600 feet, then west to the centerline of <br />Old Hwy. 146, then north along the centerline of Old Hwy. 146 a <br />distance of approximately 700 feet, then west to the centerline of <br />Taylor Bayou. <br />• <br />
