• • <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />Planning & Zoning Commission <br />Minutes of November 21, 1996 <br />A. PROPONENTS <br />Mary McLain, 128 S. 16th Street, addressed the Commission. Ms. <br />McLain is President of the Board of Directors for Bayshore <br />Condominiums. Ms. McLain wanted to make sure that the Replat would <br />not allow any undesireable business or activity. <br />B. OPPONENTS <br />There were none. <br />V. CLOSE PUBLIC HEARING. <br />Chairman Waters closed the Public Hearing at 6:10 PM. <br />VI. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF THE REPEAT OF LOTS 5-28 AND THE ADJACENT <br />ALLEY OF BLOCK 133; TOWN OF LA PORTS. <br />A motion was made by Chuck EngeIken to approve the Replat of Lots 5-28 and the <br />adjacent alley of Block 133; Town of La Porte, subject to the following conditions: <br />1. The public hearing cost of $50.07 is paid by the applicant. <br />2. Ordinance #96-2137, approved by City Council on September 23, 1996, <br />is shown on the Replat as the document that closed the alley in Block 133 <br />and retained the 16 foot utility easement. <br />The motion was seconded by Melton Wolters. The motion carried with Melton Wolters, <br />Chuck Engelken, and Betty Waters voting in favor and Dottie Kaminski and Eugene <br />Edmonds voting against the motion. <br />VII. CON7CINUE PUBLIC HEARING CONVENED AT THE OCTOBER 17, 1996, <br />MEETING. THE PURPOSE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING IS TO CONSIDER <br />ZONE CHANGE REQUEST #R96-006, WffiCH IS REQUESTED FOR TRACTS <br />18B AND 18F; CRESCENT VIEW, WffiCH IS FURTHER DESCRIBED AS <br />BEING LOCATED AT 2757 OLD HWY. 146 (S. BROADWAY), LA PORTS, <br />TEXAS. THE REQUEST IS FOR THE PROPERTY TO BE REZONED FROM <br />ffiGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R-3) TO NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL <br />(NC). <br />Chairman Waters reconvened the Public Hearing at 6:13 PM. <br />Mr. Rankin explained that a public hearing was held for this request during the October <br />17th meeting. It was tabled, however, to allow the applicant, Dorothy Stevens, time to <br />provide additional information for the Commission's consideration. Ms. Stevens <br />
