CONSIDER RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL REGARDING REZONE <br />REQUEST #1103-007. <br />Motion by Ralph Dorsett to recommend to City Council, approval of Rezone Request <br />#R03-007. OPEN PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER REZONE REQUEST #R03-009 FOR THE <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 310 NORTH 1ST STREET BETWEEN WEST "ADAMS" & <br />"TYLER" STREETS, FURTHER DESCRIBED AS LOTS 11 AND 12 OF BLOCK 84, <br />JOHNSON HUNTER SURVEY, A-35, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, <br />TEXAS. THE CITY IS INCLUDING LOTS 1 THRU 10 AND 13 THRU 16 OF BLOCK 84 <br />AS A PART OF A COMPREHENSIVE REZONING. THE APPLICANT, BAYOU <br />HOUSING PARTNERS, INC., SEEKS TO HAVE THE PROPERTY REZONED FROM <br />GENERAL COMMERCIAL (GC) TO LOW -DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R-1), TO <br />PROVIDE FOR SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLINGS. <br />Chairperson Waters opened the public hearing at 6:10 P.M. <br />A. STAFF PRESENTATION <br />Mr. Malik presented staffs report and answered questions from the Commission. <br />Bayou Housing Partners has requested a zone change for property located at <br />310 N. 15t Street. This property is being considered as a possible location to <br />construct a new home as part of a HOME grant the City has been awarded <br />through Harris County. The City has included Lots 1-10 and 13-16 of block 84, <br />as a comprehensive rezoning of the area. <br />Staff recommended approval of the zone change. Of the 23 public notices <br />mailed to adjacent property owners, the City received two responses in favor of <br />the rezone. <br />
