Harris Wofford is a driving force In <br />the power of mobilizing people, particularly youth, to change the world for the better. The <br />Harris Wofford Awards provide recognition to two Individuals In the following categories: <br /> <br />1. Individual: An Individual between the ages of 5 and 25 who has demonstrated <br />exemplary commitment and action to Involve themselves and other peers in service, <br />youth voice, service-learning, and civic engagement activities. <br />2. Institution: Institutions can be a national, state, or local nonprofit organization, a <br />Foundation, or a Corporation with demonstrated record of activity and Impact devoted <br />to youth service, youth voice, service-learning, and civic engagement. <br /> <br />The Harris Wofford Awards will be given out at the 15th Annual National Service-Learning <br />Conference in Orlando, Florida in March 2004. The two winners of the Harris Wofford Awards <br />will be recognized at a luncheon In Orlando during the National Service-Learning Conference. <br />Winners will receive a plaque commemorating their achievement and the individual award <br />recipient will be awarded $1,000 and half of the award will be designated to the nonprofit <br />service organization of their choice to support program activities.
