Must not have received other COVID-19 financial assistance <br /> Money can be used to assist with: payroll, mortgage, utility, or other business <br />operating expenses <br /> Grant funding not to exceed $25,000 <br /> <br />Currently, the only County CRF-funded program available to assist residents is the <br />Emergency Rental Assistance Program, which is designed to provide emergency <br />financial assistance for critical rental assistance related to COVID-19. If required to use <br />the same eligibility criteria a <br />Program for residents, the requirements for a local residential relief program would be: <br /> Must be 18 or older to qualify <br /> Total household income cannot exceed 50% of the HUD Area Median Family <br />Income (HAMFI) limits <br /> No other COVID assistance received through Harris County <br /> Required Documentation: Proof of economic hardship due to COVID-19 <br />(termination/furlough, unemployment application, etc.); Notice to vacate, proof of <br />a lack of resources, and any unpaid rent statements; and Personal Identification <br />and Lease Agreement <br /> Will assist with payments or arrears of rent and rent-associated fees from the <br />period from March 2020 until December 2020 <br /> Maximum of $1,900 per household <br /> Paid directly to landlords on behalf of eligible households; landlord must have <br />enrolled in the program for tenants to be eligible for assistance <br /> <br />The City may elect to transfer a portion of its CRF Small Cities Program allocation to the <br />Porte businesses and residents. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends approval of the proposed CRF Funding Plan for the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />ACTION REQUIRED BY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />Consider adoption of the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) Funding Plan. <br />Approved for the City Council meeting agenda <br /> <br /> <br />Corby D.
