• <br />• <br />Page 7 of 12 <br />SUBJECT: EMERGENCY LEAVE <br />1. In case of sudden and/or serious illness or injury <br />to a member of an employee's household which requires <br />the employee's personal attention and care he may be <br />allowed absence with pay for a period not exceeding <br />three working days. <br />2. In case of death to member of an employee's immediate <br />family an employee shall be granted leave with pay <br />occuring in the first three working days immediately <br />following the date of death. <br />3. Emergency leave is confined to three (3) working days <br />for no more than a total of two (2) times in any one <br />(1) year. <br />4. Immediate family shall be defined as wife, husband, <br />child, brother, sister, parents, grandparents, mother- <br />in-law or father-in-law, or foster parents. <br />5. Death of relatives other than those mentioned above not <br />included in the immediate family, shall be considered <br />individually and such time allowed as circumstances warrant. <br />6. Department Heads shall be responsible for reporting <br />employees' emergency leaves to the office. <br />7. Any additional time off requested may be granted by the <br />department head without pay. Evidence of death satisfaction <br />to the department head may be left to his discretion. <br />
