<br />• In addition to standby <br />shall be compensated, plus <br />hourly salary for all hours <br />40 hour work week. <br />Section 6. Longevity <br /> <br />compensation each person on standby <br />one and one-half times their regular <br />actually worked over the regular <br />Longevity compensation is a reward for length of continuous <br />service with the City. Longevity is calculated on the basis of <br />the number of months of continuous service. <br />On the first of December each year all permanent full time <br />employees who have completed one full year's service will receive <br />compensation for each month of service beginning with their date <br />of employment. <br />Longevity compensation is given as a reward for completing <br />another year's continuous service. For this reason, employees <br />who voluntarily and/or involuntarily terminate are not eligible <br />for longevity compensation. _ <br />Employees terminating their employment as a result of retire- <br />ment under the City's approved retirement system shall, upon re- <br />tirement, receive their earned longevity compensation, based upon <br />• their completed months of service. <br />Section 7. Jury Duty • <br />All employees shall be granted leave of absence from regular <br />duties when called for jury services. <br />The length of such authorized absence shall be equal to the <br />time required for jury service. Proof shall be furnished to the <br />department head. <br />Employees on authorized leave for jury service shall be con- <br />tinued on the City payroll at full salary, which shall be in addi- <br />tion to any pay employee may receive for serving on the jury. <br />Department heads shall be responsible for seeing that such <br />absence is reported on the employee's time card. <br />• Section 8. Insurance and Retirement <br />Health Insurance <br />The City of La Porte pays. the entire cost of health insurance <br />. for the permanent full time employee and his family. Also included <br />in this insurance is a life insurance policy for the employee only. <br />13 <br />
