• • <br />RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE <br />LA PORTE~-BAYSHORE CHAMBER OF COMM~RCE <br />~~HEREAS,~Th'e La Porte Texans' War on Drugs began two years ago as <br />a nonprofit organization, in response to concerned parents who wanted <br />to prevent drug and alcohol abuse among the youth in our community; and <br />WHEREAS, The organization proposes the extension of its program <br />into full-time community intervention; and <br />WHEREAS; In our opinion, this extension would provide highly <br />positive benefits for the La Porte-Bayshore Area; and <br />jVHEREAS, The primary purpose of the La Porte Texans'~War on Qrugs <br />is to inform and educate parents, adolescents and children, and others <br />about the dangers of marijuana, alcohol, and other mind-altering drugs; <br />and <br />~QHEREAS, The organization's shared unity among families, educators, <br />clergymen, law enforcement, and local 'business has brought the group <br />successfully to this point; and <br />WIlERE115, Ttie extension of the program would enable the organization <br />to continue its record of successes and to work with the community on <br />a daily basis. ' <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the.Soard of Directors of the <br />La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce that the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber <br />of Commerce goes on record as supporting, the e~fforts•of the La Porte <br />Texans' War on Drugs to secure `a full-time community intervention <br />program, which, if successful, would he extremely beneficial for the <br />citizens of the La Porte-Bayshore Area. <br />ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the La Porte.-aayshore Chamber <br />of Commerce on the 13th day of November, 1585. <br />Albert D.
