5. Glare: <br />Any operation or activity producing intense glare shall <br />• be performed in such a manner as not to create a <br />nuisance or hazard across lot lines. In no case shall <br />direct illumination from any source of light or direct <br />• welding flash be visible in a residential district, nor <br />shall reflected light from these sources exceed 0. 2 <br />foot candles across the source property lines. <br />b. Fire and Explosion Hazards: <br />(a) Activities involved in the manufacture of materials <br />or products which decompose by detonation are <br />permitted only in the Industrial District <br />and then only when specifically licensed by the City <br />of LaPorte Fire Department. <br />(b) Activities involving the storage and utilization of <br />materials or products which decompose by detona- <br />tion are permitted only in manufacturing districts, <br />and then only when specifically licensed by the <br />City of LaPorte Fire Department. Such materials <br />shall include but not be limited to all primary ex- <br />plosives such as lead azide, lead sulphonate, <br />fulminates and tetrancene; all high explosives <br />• such as TNT, HMX, PETN, and picric acid; <br />propellants and components thereof such as <br />' nitrocellulose, black powder, boron hydrides, <br />hydrazine and its derivatives; pyrotechnics and <br />fireworks such as magnesium powder, potassium <br />chlorate, and potassium nitrate; blasting explo- <br />sives such as dynamite and nitroglycerine; <br />unstable organic compounds such as liquid <br />• oxygen, percholric acid, perchlorates, chlorates <br />and hydrogen peroxide in concentrations greater <br />than 35 per cent; and nuclear fuels, fissionable <br />materials and products, and reactor elements <br />such as Uranium 235 and Plutonium 239. <br />(c) Explosives shall be stored, utilized, and manufac- <br />tured in accordance with applicable local, state, <br />and federal codes. <br />(d) All applications for zoning permits for uses involy- <br />ing fire and explosion hazards may be referred <br />by the Zoning Administrator to the office of the <br />Chief Fire Marshall of the City of LaPorte for <br />• <br />
