~ f <br />-14- <br />• 2.65 ZONING ORDINANCE: The Zoning Ordiance of the City of <br />La Porte, together with any amendments thereto. <br />SECTION 3. PURPOSE, AUTHORITY AND JURISDICTION <br />Under the authority of Article 974a of the Revised Civil <br />Statutes of the State of Texas, which article is hereby <br />made part of these regulations, the City Council of the <br />City of La Porte does hereby adopt the following regu- <br />lations to hereafter control the development of land <br />within the corporate limits of the City of La Porte and <br />in the unincorporated areas lying within the extraterri- <br />torial jurisdiction of the City of La Porte in order to <br />provide for the orderly development of the areas and to <br />• secure adequate provision for traffic, light, air, re- <br />creation, transportation, water, drainage, sewage, and <br />other facilities; provided, however, that the City of La <br />Porte excludes from the terms, conditions and effects of <br />this Ordinance and all amendments hereto, unsubdivided <br />development in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the <br />City, and land included within the boundaries of any <br />Industrial District or Districts that may be hereafter <br />created by the City of La Porte under the terms of Article <br />970a and amendments thereto of the Revised Civil Statutes <br />of the State of Texas. It shall be unlawful for any <br />owner or agent of any owner of land to layout, subdivide, <br />.7 <br />
