Second by <br />Councilperson Skelton. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Matuszak, Graves, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, <br />Westergren; Malone, Longley and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />9. Council considered an agreement with Kay Homes for sewer <br />service in Brookglen Section III. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to approve the agreement <br />with Kay Homes and authorize the Mayor to sign the agreement. <br />Second by Councilperson Matuszak. Council considered granting a pipeline permit to Union Carbide. <br />• After discussion and questions from Council, City.Attorney Askins <br />read: AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A PERMIT UNDER SECTION 18-A-3 OF <br />ORDINANCE N0. 915, "PIPELINE TRANSPORTATION," BEING CHAPTER 18-A <br />OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF 'THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS; AND <br />APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION DATED <br />JANUARY 13, 1984, TO CONSTRUCT A SIXTEEN INCH (16") OXYGEN <br />. PIPELINE AND~TO CONSTRUCT A SIXTEEN INCH (16") NITROGEN PIPE- <br />LINE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Malone <br />No. 915-U as read by the City Attorney. <br />person Pfeiffer.
