Council canvassed the votes cast in the Special Election held <br />September 29, 1984. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the election returns and passed them to Council. <br /> <br />Council considered Ordinance No. 1414 declaring the results <br />of the Special Election held September 29, 1984. <br /> <br />City Attorney Knox Askins read: AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE <br />RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON SEPTEMBER 29, 1984, <br />HELD IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE FOR THE ELECTION OF COUNCILPERSON <br />DISTRICT 2 AND COUNCILPERSON AT LARGE POSITION A. <br /> <br />Motioll-Hg~mg~-12.LCouncilQerson Westergren~Q ado~Ordinance <br />No. 1414-ss read by the CitY-Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Skelton. The motion carried, 5 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Pfeiffer, Skelton, Westergren, <br />and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />7. Mayor Virginia Cline gave the oathes of office to Paula Bridges <br />Councilperson District 2 and Betty T. Waters Councilperson at <br />Large Position A, after which they took their places at the <br />Council Table. <br /> <br />Councilperson Bridges thanked the persons involved in her <br />campaign, her family and all the persons who voted for her. <br /> <br />Councilperson Waters thanked her family for their support for <br />her and all the persons who voted for her and hopes that she <br />will be able to serve them fairly and in their best interest. <br /> <br />.r- <br /> <br />8.
