<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Public Hearings and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />September 14, 1987, Page 2 <br /> <br />Wayne Knox reviewed his request for Council's benefit. <br /> <br />The Mayor asked for public input in favor of the request. No <br />one came forward. <br /> <br />The Mayor called for public input in opposition to the <br />request. Mrs. Norma Hutchins came forward and addressed <br />Council. She had no objections to the request, but commented <br />that she wished to make sure that there would be no <br />commercial business transactions allowed if the permit is <br />granted, because it is located in a residential area and the <br />residents do not want any commercial businesses there. She <br />also asked that if the property were ever sold, could the new <br />owner do what he wished with the property. She was informed <br />that the special conditional use permit would go with the <br />sale of the property and that it could only be used for the <br />restrictions on the permit. <br /> <br />There was no other input and the Mayor declared the public <br />hearing closed. <br /> <br />5. The Mayor opened the public hearing on the request of the <br />First Assembly of God church for a special conditional use <br />permit under section 6-600(F) of the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />The Mayor asked for public input either for or in opposition <br />to the request. There was none, and the Mayor declared the <br />public hearing closed. <br /> <br />6. Council considered approving the minutes of the Public <br />Hearings and Regular Meeting held August 24, 1987. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to aporove the <br />August 24 minutes as presented. Second by Councilperson <br />Clarke. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />7. Mrs. Jolene Wickel, 315 South 4th, addressed Council <br />regarding the proposed animal ordinance amendment. She had <br />taken a survey in different parts of the city, and presented <br />the results to Council. <br />
