<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Public Hearings and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />September 14, 1987, Page 3 <br /> <br />Ms. Dottie McGhee, 217 South Ohio, addressed Council <br />regarding the proposed animal ordinance amendment. <br /> <br />Mr. Charlie Young, 214 Reynolds, addressed Council regarding <br />the proposed animal ordinance amendment. <br /> <br />Mrs. Juanell Brinkman, 2201 Meadow Lark, addressed Council <br />regarding the proposed animal ordinance amendment. <br /> <br />Mr. Charlie Young, 214 Reynolds, addressed Council regarding <br />the proposed animal odinance amendment. <br /> <br />Mr. Jimmie Ray Spradling, 3302 Valley Brook, addressed <br />Council regarding drainage, streets, and mowing in the <br />Fairmont Park area. <br /> <br />Ms. Susan Elkins was scheduled to address Council on behalf <br />of Transworld Entertainment, but had asked to be rescheduled <br />for September 28. <br /> <br />8. Council considered an ordinance relating to Sweet Pea's Po <br />Boy and Sandwich Shoppe alcoholic beverage permit. <br /> <br />Mr. Walter Mahoney, Jr., attorney for Sweet Pea's, addressed <br />Council regarding the ordinance, asking that Council <br />investigate Sweet Pea's track record in comparison to the <br />other, similar type businesses in La Porte before they vote <br />on the ordinance. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1000-P-1 - AN ORDINANCE <br />REPEALING ORDINANCE 1000-P OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, HARRIS <br />COUNTY, TEXAS, REVOKING THE PERMIT GRANTED THEREIN; ADOPTING <br />CERTAIN FINDINGS OF FACT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Waters to adopt Ordinance <br />1000-P-1 as read bv the City Attorney. Second by <br />Councilperson Matuszak. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />
