<br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />November 12, 1990, Page 2 <br />WATER AND SEWER MAINS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to adopt Ordinance <br />759-F as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Cooper. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 2 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, Porter, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: Councilpersons Sutherland and Gay <br />6. Council considered an ordinance approving a contract by and <br />between the City of La Porte and R. L. Utilities, Inc., for <br />sanitary sewer force main replacement. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1735 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE AND R. L. UTILITIES, INC., FOR A 12 INCH DIAMETER <br />SANITARY FORCE MAIN REPLACEMENT AT FAIRMONT PARKWAY AND SPRING <br />GULLY, IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,785.00; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to adopt Ordinance <br />1735 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Porter. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />7. Council considered an ordinance approving a contract for <br />professional services for design of senior citizens center and <br />La Porte wellness facility. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1736 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE AND DENNY-RAY-WINES ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR <br />ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR A NEW FITNESS/RECREATION CENTER <br />HOUSING THE SENIOR'S CENTER, PARKS AND RECREATION OFFICES, AND <br />RECREATION FACILITIES; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Ordinance <br />1736 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />McLaughlin. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
