Check and/or re-establish communications.~ <br />2. Maintain law and order. <br />3. Perform fire protection and rescue operations. <br />4. Set up triage stations if necessary an~ re-establish health <br />conditions. <br />5. Assess extent of damage. <br />6. Perfotm ~mergency clean-up ~nd debris removal. <br />7. Request 'outside assistance as required. <br />8. Where necessary establish controls on critical resourses and <br />direct their distribution~ <br />9. Designate restricted areas as necessary. <br />10. Furnish regular status reports to the Departmen~ of. Public <br />Safety Disaster District Headquarters Region 2A in Houston. <br />11. Keep public informed of situation-by use of all available news <br />media. <br />12. Insure orderly' operations of shelters; provide welfare neces- <br />sities ~o the exte~t possible; determine when conditions allow <br />shelter emergence; direct all shelter operations. <br />13. Under conditions of nuclear warfare,' conduct radiological <br />monitoring of fallout during ~ll stages of operations. <br />
