CONCEPT <br /> <br />The mayor, as chief executive, is responsible for directing <br />all emergency measures within the 'city limits of La Porte. <br />All existing agencies of governme~t in the ci~y'will perform <br />emergency act~vities related to those duties they perform in <br />normal operations. The basic function of themayor is to <br />coordinate these activities and to insure the availability <br />from other sourses of , any skills not normally available in <br />existing government agencies. <br /> <br />B. EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER (EOC) <br /> <br />The mayor, assisted by the city commission and civil defense <br />coordinator, will exercise direction and control during an <br />emergency from the City Emergenct Ope~ations.Center (EOC). <br />The city (EOC) is located 'at 124 South Second Street. The <br />mayor, as civil defense coordinator has the authority to . <br />activate the (EO~) as deemed necessary in actual or threatened <br />emergencies. Heads of departments having emergency assignments <br />or functions will report to the (EOC) upon its activation. <br />
